Once you have your Explore it is time to link your Cricut cartridges you may already have so that you can use them in Cricut Design Space. If you have had an Expression and linked your cartridges to the Cricut Craft Room or to a Gypsy you won't physically link your cartridges because they are already linked.
This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience (which means if you make a purchase after clicking a link I will earn a small commission but it won't cost you anything extra)! You can read our full disclosure policy here.
1. Make sure your machine is turned on and sign in to Cricut Design Space.
2. Insert the Cricut cartridge into the Explore on top left side of the machine.
3. Click on the menu in the top left corner of Design Space.
Once you pull up the menu you will see your name showing that you are logged in. Next click on the link that says "link cartridges".
4. Select the "link cartridge" button on the bottom of the screen.
When this page comes up it will show whether your Explore is connected. If it is plugged into your computer this is no issue at all. If you are using the Explore Air and are connecting through Bluetooth you may need to wait for it to connect wirelessly.
Once it is connected go ahead and select the "link cartridge" button at the bottome of the page.
Once your cartridge is successfully linked a blue banner will come across the screen saying "cartridge was successfully linked". Now you can take the cartridge out of your Explore. All of those images will be available within the Design Space.
If you accidentally try to link a cartridge that has already been linked it's no big deal. A red banner will show across the bottom of the screen that says "cartridge has already been linked".
Now that you have your cartridges linked, check out this post to show you where you can find the cartridges you own in Cricut Design Space.
